About the event
In a deeply uncertain and unpredictable world, made all the more evident with the ongoing challenges
of the SARS-CoV- 2 virus, we are entering uncharted waters as a species. Now is the time to think
completely differently than we ever have before: a new way of thinking. How do we do that? What does
this new thinking look like?
A good way to think about this is by looking at everything around us as a set of relationships or maybe
like a spider's web. We will begin by looking at how the food on our plates gets there, one of the most
serious issues of concern during this lockdown.
The highly interactive sessions will involve working independently and in small groups as well as sharing
and discussing your work with others. Through these assignments, students will appreciate how they
can go beyond ‘linear thinking’ and think more effectively using the ideas of systems, diversity,
resilience, vulnerability, flexibility and adaptation. Students will also begin to appreciate how these ideas
can be applied to different systems.
