About the event

(This course is targeted at children entering Grades 5, 6, 7 in 2020-21)

Do you enjoy watching/ reading murder mysteries where detectives like Sherlock Holmes and Hercule Poirot investigate the murder? Do you get engrossed by questions like- Who is the person who has been murdered? Whom do we suspect as the murderer? What might the motives be? What evidence do we have to say that X murdered Y? If your answer to these questions is ‘Yes’, you have the makings of a historical investigator. Archaeologists and Historians piece together clues to figure out what happened in the past.

In this course, you will start learning how to think about and investigate past events through activities like solving a murder mystery, finding the oldest object in your house and how it got there, what lessons a 15,000-years old fractured human femur bone found in an archaeological site offers to us in these times of corona virus, how mosquitoes have shaped human history and so on.

In short, you will learn how to combine the abilities of a scientist and a detective to become a historical investigator.
